Job Vacancies at BG Group Nigeria - Head, Venture Management

In this role, you will be responsible for partner and stakeholder relationship management , developing and implementation of BG strategies towards being a partner of choice with industry and govenrment stakeholders.

Key Accountabilities

  • External Interfaces –Build effective relationships with partners, government and regulatory agencies, ensuring that BG Group’s agenda is advanced.
  • Internal Interfaces –Build relationships and clear lines of communication with internal interfaces to support the BG Group Upstream team aspirations
  • Planning and strategy – Develop and obtain internal, Partner and NAPIMS support for JV specific business plan and strategy (including support for specific JV Work Programmes and Budgets) against agreed HSSE, cost, schedule and strategic targets.
  • JV Governance – Coordinate TECOM, MACOM, SUBCOM meetings and partner meetings including OPCOM.
  • Management Reporting – Ensure preparation and coordination of weekly and monthly partner and internal reports.
  • JV Management – Ensure production of regular progress reports to BG, Partners and Government agencies; ensure all JV (NAPIMS) Work Groups are appropriately resourced and steered; and provide the GM Commercial with support and all material for TECOM, OPCOM and MACOM discussions.

Unique Knowledge, Skills, Experience and Attributes

  • Leadership and Management – Clear evidence of shared leadership and managing through influence as well as formal authority.
  • Strategy- Proven ability to take the lead in conceiving, developing and implementing strategies which significantly add value to Joint Venture team delivery. Able to demonstrate clear, fact based decision making skills.
  • Relationship Management – Proven track record of articulating a vision for the future and working at senior levels with partners and other stakeholders to co- create a shared agenda. Must have achieved significant success in working in complex ventures and creating the environment for successful delivery.
  • Industry Skills – Has broad Industry knowledge with in-depth experience of oil & gas exploration, commercial, development projects and a good understanding of all operations & non-technical aspects including JV Management.
  • Change Management – Knowledge and experience of change management strategies are essential.
  • Detailed knowledge required of the non-technical and commercial risks and opportunities involved in operating and developing oil & gas projects – primarily in developing countries.
