IITA is an international non-profit research-for-development (R4D) organization created in 1967, governed by a Board of Trustees, and supported primarily by the Consultative Group of International Agricultural Research (CGIAR). Our R4D is anchored on the development needs of sub-Saharan Africa. We develop agricultural solutions with our partners to tackle hunger and poverty of reducing producer and consumer risks, enhancing crop quality and productivity, and generating wealth from agriculture. We have more than 100 internationally recruited scientists from about 35 countries and 900 nationally recruited staff based in various stations across Africa-Saharan Africa.
The International Institute of Tropical Agriculture seeks suitable Nigerian Nationals for the following positions at the Institute's Headquarters, Ibadan.

Position: HUMAN RESOURCES ASSISTANT
2 year renewable contract
Duties
• Successful candidate will among other things
• Maintain focal point of the HR central data base system;
• Input and update the Internationally Recruited Staff (IRS) data in the electronic data base.
• Assist in the IRS recruitment
• Manage the job vacancy website
• Assist in processing of IRS benefits
• Process all leave application forms for approval;
• Assist in the orientation of new staff
• Produce simple analysis, statistic and reports;
• Prepare power point presentation when required;
• Retrieve information (manual and electronics) from the record
• Maintain HR archival files
• Perform any other duties as may be assigned by the Supervisor
Qualification and Experience
• BSc/HND in Management Sciences with minimum of 5 years post-qualification working experience in Human Resources administration.
• Candidate must have high stress tolerance level and ability to manage and priotize work, be able to handle confidential issues and be willing to work beyond normal hours.
• He/she should also possess sound analytical mind, high integrity, good inter-personal and communication skills (oral and written) and strong knowledge of computer office softwares.

Job description
Based in Nairobi, Kenya, you will be responsible for the business development in targeted East African countries. Reporting to the Managing Director for Africa, your main responsibilities will be to:
-Manage existing business relationships in East Africa by maintaining active relationships with clients and seeking additional growth opportunities.
-Meet defined revenue generation targets set by the client and provide regular revenue forecasts.
-Drive new business development in targeted markets – Oil & Gas, Pharmaceuticals, Tobacco, Spirits, and Currency.

Who we are looking for
Holder of an Undergraduate degree in Engineering, Chemistry, Business or a related discipline, you have at least 5 years (10+ years preferred) of experience in direct business development, sales, or sales management with a proven track record of success in developing and implementing a sales strategy and driving revenue growth and expansion. Gifted with entrepreneurial skills, you are able to communicate effectively within different cultural contexts and negotiate persuasively with high-level decision makers. Organized and versatile, you are able to manage multiple clients and lead a team in an emerging market if necessary. Additionally, you are accustomed to working with sensitive and confidential information.
An experience on the African continent is required for this position. Candidates must be fluent in English. Fluency in French or Portuguese would be a plus.
